Question
I am seeking an answer to a question that is best recieved from a vet such as yourself. I was wondering if it is ok to use a flea coller on my dog while he is on Advantage-Frontline flea drops. Will the dog recieve too much "poison" in his system? Is this ok to use the flea coller? I just want to "up the ante" in elimination of these little demons from hell. Thanks.

Answer
The flea collars really are not effective in preventing or killing fleas.  I would just use the Frontline.  If you are having a problem while the dog is using the topical insecticide, the manufacturers are recommending more frequent applications, like every 2 weeks. for 3-4 treatments and then monthly.
