Ask the Veterinarian/Cat acting strange

Question
Hello - I got my cat shaved a couple days ago at my local vets office due to some matted fur. She has been acting very strange ever since almost like she is drugged up or a bit 'paranoid' and will not tolerate being held - which she usually likes. I was just wondering if it is normal for cats to act a bit odd after getting shaved? Or should I be concerned about something else going on? Everyone thing else is fine, she is eating good, playing..ect.
Thanks for your time,
Allison

Answer
Allison -

Maybe there is the possibility that your kitty is uncomfortable after being shaved down.  Her skin may be sensitive and that may be why she does not want to be handled.

If she is still acting strangely have her evaluated by her veterinarian. The doctor can examine her skin to determine if there are any problems.
