PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING TO ME: I am NOT a vet and do NOT diagnose diseases. That is only for a licensed Veterinarian to do. I will give you suggestions and steer you toward calling your vet for help. You can call the vet's office and talk to the technician there or the vet at times. Don't be afraid to call them! If you have a serious issue with your pet please post it to one of the veterinarians in here- I will tell you the same thing in my answer. IF your pet is injured or in an emergency situation, CALL YOUR VET- Do not wait and post in here. Just call the vet's office and get them in to see the vet right away. Critical treatment time is lost if you seek answers here when you should have your precious pet at the vets!! Don't sit at home waiting for an answer when your pet is critically ill or injured!! Ask the Veterinarian - cat pooping and peeing on floor

Expert: Jana Connell RVT, CVT - 11/7/2009

Question
Hi,

I have a persian male cat (5 yrs old and unneutered). I got him like a month ago for breeding purposes, so I knew I will have to deal with all the spraying thing, but surprizingly, he starting pooping on the floor!! At first, he would use his litter box without any problems! So I am now dealing with urine and poop all over the room I had to put him in!! Is this normal? I know that spraying is a normal stud behaviour, but pooping on the floor is new for me!
Also, I have been trying to mate him with my female persian, but what surprizes me is that when he "tries or does" penetrate my female, he'd withdraw out right away without ejaculation, although he's a proven stud accoring to his previous owner.
I am starting to think that he might have a problem like infection or someting that causes pain in the penis or that area in which he is reluctant to ejaculate or use the litter box!
Please any advice would help!

Thanks

Answer
Blaze,
To be honest with you I don' deal with stud cats so I really can't answer this for you. I would suggest that you contact your regular vet and ask them what to do about this issue, especially the first one. The second one, the defecating on the floor, is also a behavioral issue and stud cats are again, out of my expertise.

I would refer you to one of the vets in here but you would be better off talking to your own local vet. They might want to do a physical exam on him to determine that nothing else is wrong.
