Question
i bought a kitten at a pet store and took it to the vet because its hair was starting to fall out and was getting flaky. he is only 2 months old. well i found out that the whole litter has this problem. the vet did a test on the kitten for ringworm and they said it was negative. what can it be then?

Answer
Kasey -

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what is wrong with your cat without the benefit of a physical exam.  There are many skin disease that affects kittens.

Sometimes ringworm can be difficult to diagnose - ask your vet to retest and send a specimen to a lab for diagnosis.
