Ask the Veterinarian/ACL repair

Question
Our 8 year old Weim had an Extracapsular ACL Repair done mid-sept. It was more of an acute tear. Her left knee will also need to be repaired, but that injury has been more chronic. She was walking fairly well on it post/op but seems to have plateaued with her progress. She still seems to raise it off the ground and noticeable muscle atrophy. We have increased her activity level but are not sure if we should be doing more. Should she be further along, or are we expecting too much. She was very active and in great shape prior to her injury. Thank you!

Unfortunately, It is impossible for me to judge your pets' progress post surgical.  Because she is not my patient, I am not aware of her physical condition.

Discuss your concerns with your veterinarian to determine if your pup is progressing as she should.
