Question
In an answer to one of the questions there was an abbreviation of I/D.  What does that stand for?  I have a vomiting and lethargic dog and trying to figure out what that is to mix with water.

Thank you,
Bonita

Answer
Well it stands for Intestinal diet and is made by Hill's pet foods. It is a prescription diet made for dogs with intestinal issues. It is a low-residue food that passes through the intestines quickly so as not to cause irritation to an already inflamed digestive tract.

The question is, why is your dog vomiting? How long has he been vomiting and what does he eat? There are many causes to vomiting and you must have the correct reason before you can treat it correctly. Especially when combined with a lethargic dog.

Your dog should see a vet if he has been vomiting for more than 24 hours. Age has a big role in this also.

Is it a young dog, an adult or a senior? Does the dog eat people food? Has he gotten outside and into garbage or antifreeze?

There are too many variables here so get your dog to the vet asap.
