My dog was bite by another family dog. We had this happen before (with other dogs) so we shaved the bite area and have kept it clean. It's been a few days but I have noticed an area that seems to have fluid building behind it. Sampson, my Great Dane, has maintained his energy, he is eating and drinking and has not been running a fever. We have just experienced several major financial blows and cannot take Sampson to the vet for a few more weeks due to cost. I have read things about blood poisoning developing from fluid build up behind punture wounds/bite wounds and it terrifed me. PLEASE give me some hope. This big boy is my baby and I can't lose him. PLEASE help.

I am not familiar with blood poisoning from fluid in a bite wound.  Some bite wounds can cause terrible infections - it would be to your dog's benefit to have your pet evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible.
