Question
Please help: I bought a 3mon old yorkie today and its now 3am I noticed there is blood in her stool she is not throwing up but I called 24hr vet they want to see her tonight! Where I bought her they gave me information and a free vet visit within 48hrs, should I take her now or wait until morning?

I am sorry, but I am not up at 3 am checking my e-mail, so I didn't get this until Wed. morning. She most likely has the blood from the stress and change of diet. Most vet's will tell you to hold off on a lot of food for 24 hours. Make sure she is getting a high quality diet, such as Science Diet Puppy Growth small bites.

If she continues to have blood then you need to get her into the vets. Blood in the stool can also be from worms, so make sure you do take her in for her 48 hour check up and get her wormed also. Get her vaccinated and her heartworm started also.

I hope she is better quickly!! Please let me know how she is doing.
