Question
My 30 lb dog has demodectic mange. how long do I give the 1cc of liquid ivermectin per 33lb dog daily, and do I increase this dose? is it ok to put in food instead of giving by shot? it is 1% ivermectin, dog is a pitbull 6 mo. old.

Answer
Clifford -

I hope you are treating your dog with the help of your veterinarian.  With that being said, 1cc ivermectin is too much for a dog that size.

Consult with your vet to determine what dose your dog should be getting.  ivermectin given in high doses can cause seizures and liver problems - even in pitbulls.
