Question
Hi there. i just got a puppy who is around a month old maybe 5 weeks, i
know i shouldn't have taken her away from her mum so quickly but there was
no choice, the breeder was giving them away like hot cakes, he just wanted to
get rid of them. But recently i took her to the vet who dewormed her and ever
since she's been throwing up spaghetti like worms. first they were alive, so i
called up the vet and he told me to give her 1 ml of combertine, after that she
is not eating, she had a little yoghurt but threw it up again with a whole plate
of worms, then she pooped as well, wit lots of dead worms. she's very weak,
whimpering and her eyes are watery. she cant walk shes shaking alot.... is
this normal ??

Answer
Tubah -

What you are describing is a normal reaction to deworming if the animal is has a heavy parasite load and obviously your pup was infested with intestinal parasites.

Right now your pup needs to be examined by a veterinarian.  She most likely feels very sick; IV fluids and medicine are sometimes necessary to make pets feel better.

She may even have an infection because of the dying worms in her body. This does not happen often, but it is possible that she is quite ill.  See your veterinarian for medication ASAP, because the longer you wait the sicker she may become.
