Question
my grandmother had taken in a dog that was set out and it turned out that the dog had parvo. well she took her to the vet and the vet gave her medicine for parvo and nausea. shes finished taking them. she is now scratching at her lips making them bleed. could this be a possible allergic reaction to one of the meds? im not sure of the names of the meds. thanks

Answer
Stephanie -

The symptoms you describe may indicate a reaction to something; contact your veterinarian and let him/her know that your pet is scratching her muzzle.  You may also want to request that your grandmother's pet be hospitalized because Parvo often requires IV fluid therapy and antibiotics as treatment.
