Question

DSC00155
I have a cat that has severe food allergies. He has had several depomedrol shots. He will NOT eat any of the trial foods we have tried. He was very picky from the day I adopted him at 6 months.I am desperate to try something  but don't know what to do. His one leg is a mess.Fish seems to be the worst and that is the only thing he will eat.HELP!!!

Answer
You need to try several foods to find a hypoallergenic diet that the cat will eat.  I have had the best success with a food called z/d from Hill's.  It is available from your vet. It comes in small packages and is guaranteed by Hill's so if the cat won't eat it, they will refund your money.

Chances are that if the DepoMedrol shots seem to help, it may not only be food allergies.

CommentI appreciate the answer but it did not tell my anything I d0n't already know. I tried the Z/D. He wouldn't eat it. Whenever I try one of these foods he loses weight quite quickly. I will try different things myself. Firstly I will try to avoid all fish - that seems to make him worse. I saw a Vegan cat kibble on Google -I am going to try that. Thanks again.
