Question

I have a nine year old yorkie mix who is generally healthy. I play ball with him daily but when I got home from work today he was disenchanted, not terribly hungry, didn't want to play and only reluctantly ate a cookie. He has been tremoring|shaking and panting. The only time he stops is when he doses off but then he wakes up and starts shaking and panting.  I have given him water which he takes. Its 2am and no vet is open til morning but I'm so concerned! He is fixed, no change of diet, no dusturbances . Please help

Unfortunately, I cannot diagnose your dog's problem without the benefit of a physical exam.

Have your pup evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Due your dog's advanced age (he's a senior citizen now), there is the likelihood that he may be experiencing something serious or he may just have a stomache.  Bloodwork and/or radiographs can be helpful in determining what is bothering your pet.
