Ask the Veterinarian/Pregnant with possible threat of mange?

Question
I recently found a stray puppy near my home and took it in hoping to find its owner or a good home.

I’ve only had it in my care for two days and it has come to my attention that it has mange and I am worried if my rabbit, cat, and adult dog will be infected like the puppy.

I am also 38 weeks pregnant and am worried about my infant if my home becomes infected.

I know there are treatments that I can do for the cat, dog, and puppy but will my rabbit be greatly affected?

And is mange harmful to my infant?

If so what solutions do you recommend before things get out of hand?

Thank you so much for responding to my questions…

Answer
There are 2 types of mange, demodectic and sarcoptic.  Demodex is not contagious to people, but sarcoptic is very contagious to all animals, including people.  Ask your vet to take care of the treatment for you so you don't have to worry about contracting anything and your puppy will be treated properly.
