Ask the Veterinarian/Shivering kitten

Question
Hi, I have a 2 1/2 month old female ragdoll X.  I noticed  today that she's shivering when she's sleepy or purring.  It's like little spurts of shivers, she'll shiver for a second and then be still for a second, then shiver, then be still.  She's sleeping right now, and I covered her up thinking that maybe she was just cold (we have central air) - but she's still shivering.
Could you tell me if this is something that I should be overly concerned about?
Thank you so much :)

Answer
Melomommy -

Have your kitty examined by a veterinarian.  Shivering in dogs can be quite common, but not as common in cats.  Perhaps your kitten is harboring some sort of sickness that can be diagnosed by a physical examination.
