Ask the Veterinarian - dog

Expert: Charlotte Sherrell, DVM - 7/4/2009

Question
i have a 2 year old pekingese, the other day he started walking with his back arched not really running around like he usually does, does not take his biscuit that he usually gets excited over, seems very sluggish and constantly repositions himself to get comfortable..what can this be?

Answer
Shawn -

You should have your dog examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible.  Pekingese tend to develop back problems and it is very important that a veterinarian obtain radiographs to evaluate his back to determine if he is healthy.
