Question
i have bought my pitbull a flea coller but many people are telling me that all pittbulls  are allergic its in thier genes is this true before i put it on him

Answer
Tina -

A flea collar is not the best treatment for fleas for any breed.  In my experience, the smaller breeds tend to have a reaction to flea collars and certain pesticides.  I am not familiar with the pit bull having any particular sensitivity to flea collars.  I think that the best flea treatments are those that are prescribed by veterinarians - Frontline, Advantage, Advantix, ect.  Most over the counter flea products are not reliably safe - the most effective (and safest) flea products are those that can be obtained from a vet's office.
