Ask the Veterinarian/strange ear

Question
My pug's ear looks strange inside. One ear looks completely normal, yet the other looks very "bumpy" but more like psoriasis? She only seems to itch at night a little, but I don't want to let it go if it is important. It is slightly pink, but not red.

Answer
Pugs are very prone to small tumors or increases in the thickness of the skin of the ear and ear canal (stenosis).  Have your vet check it.  If there is swelling from inflammation, then steroids may be needed.  If not, then there may be growths there that need removal.
