Ask the Veterinarian/dry winter skin

Question
Hi,
My dog is a long haired Corgi.  She is brushed thoroughly every night.  I don't over bathe at all.  She's fed a good quality food.  But, come winter when the heat goes on, she starts to get itchy skin.  Of course it's the dry air.  I was wondering what kind of moisturising spray I can use between bathings to help relieve her skin.  Any suggestions?

Answer
To moisturize the skin, you can feed her Omega3 fatty acid supplements in her food.  In addition, you can buy almost any doggy skin conditioner spray, which will help keep the skin hydrated during the winter.  You can use AlphaKeri bath oil one capful in a gallon of water as a spray.  These sprays need to be used daily and brushed to the skin.
