Question
I have a 5 year old female pomeranian. Every so often she has an episode at night she wakes up yelping almost like screaming, I turn on the lights to check on her and she is laying on her side and seems fine. I put her in bed with us and we go back to sleep. She does seem a bit depressed does come up to us as much, but is eating fine and going to potty fine, and still barks at everything. This month however we have left twice for two days camping.  Could something be wrong, could it be a dream or a seizure or could she just be mad and punishing us for leaving?? Thanks for any advice!!!!!

Answer
Sounds like a dog having dreams in her sleep and being vocal while doing so. If she is depressed however, she might be having some pain somewhere or she could be having small petite mall seizures.

In that case she should have an exam from your vet. Seizures are not always treated with medications depending on the type and occurrence of them.

You need to know if she is having them however, so an exam is warranted.
