Ask the Veterinarian/loss of hair

Question
I am writing to give you an update on my dog Buddy who I wrote you about in Sept. He is 11 yrs young and weight 55-60#. He is on totally grain free food, bathing has been cut way down and hypo-allergenic shampoo is used. In between baths hypo wipes are used. I have been giving him MitroMax since Sept. He was doing really good, healed, hair grew in and now the hair loss has begun once again.  I started him on Derma Strength Nov. 4th when the skin condition flared up so he is now on both.  Haven't changed anything and haven't any idea why it has flared up. How long does it take for the Derma Strength to work and do you have any other product suggestions as I am somewhat going a little nuts with trying to help him.  Thank you..... I will not take him to my vet as he will want to put him back on antibiotics.  I stopped giving him the colloidal silver about a month ago as I felt he didn't need it any more. Thanks for any help you can give me

Answer
I am so glad you had at least a few months of improvement on the Mitomax. If the Derma Strength has not helped by now, it probably will not. Finish the bottle for general support.

Remember to be grateful for skin problems. Buddy is glad you are not going to get conventional drugs that will not deeply heal him.

At this point, you have two choices - keep trying different supplements, flower essences, HTA, etc, that I listed previously and see which ones work, or seek professional help that will heal the deeper imbalance. Sometimes the easy fixes work, other times you need the good Chinese medicine/acupuncture or homeopathy to really cure.

I would suggest scheduling a phone appointment with me, or using the web links from before to find one nearer you.

Expertise

I can give you the holistic approach to any problem in any species, though mostly I work with dogs and cats. Depending on the condition and the type of animal, I will be able to give very specific treatment suggestions such as what flower essences, homeopathic remedies, nutritional supplements, diet changes, lifestyle changes or herbs that may be helpful - not drugs. I can also suggest where you can go for further education or to find a specialist in a specific holistic field. I can help you understand why your animal is ill and what improvements can be expected. I do not check messages more than every one to two days, so PLEASE DO NOT ask about EMERGENCIES - call your local veterinarian. I cannot diagnose your animal. I cannot prescribe specific treatments. I am no longer very current with conventional treatments, so cannot answer questions on those. I am not an expert on birds or small critters. I will give you helpful connections about hose species.
