Ask the Veterinarian/7 year old cat's one eye

Question
Hi, I noticed recently that my cat's eye changed color, it got darker.  She acts fine, absolutely nothing else has changed.  I was hoping it was nothing serious, I had some hefty vet bills the last month from 3 cats, including her emergency vet visit....she started vomiting and could not stop..medicine stopped it and 2 days later it was like nothing ever happened.  So, I was hoping to avoid another vet visit.  Any advice will be appreciated.  Jen

Answer
Jen,
I am not a vet but a vet tech, and this is something that sounds like it could be a hidden symptom of something, like hypertension or other changes of the eye itself.
My suggestion would be for you to repost this to one of the vets like Dr. Gotthelf.

He might be able to answer this for you. Changes in eye color or pupil size are indicative of something going on. Doesn't always mean it's serious but it is something that should be checked out.

Hope that helps. Sorry I couldn't be of more help myself.
