I recently got an 8 year old shih tzu who hasn't got spayed yet but recently found out that she has the mammory tumor...is it too late for her to get spayed or does she still have luck?
Not sure what you mean by luck?
After the age of 4 her chances of getting mammary tumors has reached it maximum. That means that if she is going to get them, she will, spayed or not.
She should still be spayed because the hormones can slow it down some plus it prevents her from having problems with uterine infections which can rise with age.
She can have the tumor removed at the time of being spayed possibly.
I hope she does well and that this is the only tumor she gets but they tend to reappear.
