Ask the Veterinarian/Chinese Crested blisters on hair line

Question
My hairless Chinese Crested gets blister along her hairline of her back.  As long as shes on antibiotics they go away but as soon as you take her off of them they come right back. My vet has no idea what it could be and wants to do a biopsy. Im trying to prevent from having a huge vet bill.  Any advice?

Answer
There are many dogs that have chronic bacterial infections.  Sometimes this is from a food allergy or some other type of skin disease. That is why the vet wants a biopsy. What you can do it to try and PULSE the antibiotics if you can.  I try and do them on a weekend with cephalexin and not during the week.  In many cases, that is all that is required.
