Ask the Veterinarian/plumbago allergy

Question
My english bulldog has developed a nasty shin condition on the back of her neck.  I think it may be due to contact with a plant called Plumbago.  What is the treatment for this.  She is currently taking Atopica for other skin ailments.

Answer
Apparently, pumbago makes a sap that can cause contact allergies.  I have never seen a plumbago plant.  The recommendation ois to avoid the plats and to shampoo frequently to remove the sap from the skin if there is exposure.  By the way, ATOPICA will be unavailable for the near future, so if your dog is helped from it, stock up now.
