I have noticed a popping/ clicking noise in my 9 month old Samoyed mix puppy, she does not appear to be in pain but does not run around as much as her brother, she couldn't already have hip issues could she?
The joints in puppies are not mature and the cartilage is mostly composed of water. It is not uncommon for some joint laxity to occur, but if there are dislocating joints, then have the pup checked by your vet. A preliminary hip X-ray can be done at 9 months to see if she is dysplastic, but it can only be definitive after 2 years of age.
