my 12 week old cocker spaniel has started peeing while she sleeps today and it really worried me it might be a physical problem  she is not spayed so i wouldnt think it would be hormones so could you help please.

Is this supposed to say 12 weeks old or 12 yrs old? A 12 week old dog that is incontinent needs to be seen by a vet right away. Believe it or not, dogs of this age can have bladder stones that will cause incontinence. She might be able to hold her urine during the day but not when she is asleep.

You need to get her xrayed but first have her checked for a urinary infection. These are common to young female dogs. That would be the first guess. The second one, which isn't as common but we see it, is the bladder stones.

So those are the things you need to have the vet check her for, the sooner the better.
