Question
Our cat was seen by the vet 1 week ago. She was given Mometamax for ear infection. also Neomycin and Polymyxin B sulfates and Dexamthasone suspension for eye allergie/infection. after the 5 day of giving meds she started with sneezing lots often. I thought maybe she sniffed some catnip up her nose but I dont think that is it. Could it be a allergic reaction to meds. She also was given a rabies shot and distemper too. she is 2 yrs old simese/snowshoe. otherwise healthy. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Most likely, she has some type of virus.  It will take at least 2 weeks for her to get over it. Many of these cat upper respiratory viruses cause eye problems as well as sneezing. Because she is sneezing, she may be blowing debris from the throat into the middle ear and that may be the cause of the ear problems if there are not ear mites in the ears.
