My 9 mos. puppy is doing the same thing blotchy reddish pink rash on belly, down hind legs and in ears.  Been on the four three week rounds of antibiotics, given three times daily.  Vet had us eliminate chicken and poultry etc. no results.  Venison and potato only diet two months, no results. No bones or chews, or treats, or toys, no detergents, no bedding.  Two other shepherds 8yrs old are fine.  Puppy has had rash since we to him at 8wks.  4months, he weighed 40 lbs.  5 mos, 50, 6 mos 60, he is now 9 mos. old and weighs 85lbs.  He is active, happy, good appetite, just this persistent rash that will never go away, I am at my wits end, cannot afford two vet visits monthly, antibiotics, plus food that cost 90.00 for 25lb bag. Good luck, and if you find out anything please post.
