Question
I have two cats- one is 8years old and another cat is about four and a half years(we found her last December 24th, 2010). Both of them are girls. They don’t get along each other.  The new cat tries to bite my old cat every time she sees her.

The problems are….8years old cat, she cries loud all day long. She pees everywhere around the house.  She cries really loud in front of the new cat’s room’s door.

My family wants them to get along each other, but they snarl each other when they see. They have their own rooms.

My family doesn’t know how to handle this situation.

What should we do???

Answer
If these cats are not spayed get them both spayed. That will help. The rest of it is just time. Time to get used to one another and to get along.

Your cat is peeing around the house for various reasons: 1. because she is marking her territory against the other cat, 2. She is not spayed and is in heat and cries for that reason, 3. She has a medical issue that she is letting you know about by crying.

The first thing to do is get her to a vet and have her looked over for bladder problems, etc. She might even be experiencing some kidney issues.

If her medical exam looks good and she is spayed, then it's a matter of time as I said. Some folks use a product called Feliway that helps the cats feel better. You spray it around the house and it helps calm them down.
You can get it at the vets.

Call you vet and make an appointment for the older cat first. Then go from there.
