Question
I have a Jack Russell and she seems to have one eye smaller than the other. sometimes she has discharge coming out and she can have difficulty opening her eye but when i cut her hair back it seems to get better but one of the eyes is definitely smaller

Answer
If she has a congenitally smaller eye it may tend to become inflamed, infected and discharging more than the other eye. Chronic eye discharges can make the eye smaller due to scar tissue. She may have eyelids that roll in (entropion), causing the lashes to rub the eye, so she squints it and has discharges to try to protect the cornea. You do need to have the eye professionally examined and stained for ulcers.

I graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980 and began using homeopathy in my practice after a client introduced me to it. By 1988 I was using exclusively holistic treatments. I began lecturing in 1987 and have spoken at veterinary conferences, health food stores, people's homes, churches, veterinary college conferences - anywhere people want to learn more about keeping their animals healthy.
