Question
my puppy is 9weeks old. He has not had his shots yet. Yesterday he was quiet and vomited and had a loose stool. he did not eat until the evening only a little bit of rice. I gave him some water with a water bottle. this morning he did eat some boiled chicken and also about a cup of his dog food. he was drinking water on his own all day and had a pretty normal stool this afternoon. he was playful and up all day, but this evening he threw up quite a bit ( substance looked like wet dog food .. almost solid) now he is not wanting to eat or drink water. what should i do.

Answer
You need to get him to the vets tomorrow and have him tested for parvo. If he has it and you start treatment early, then he has a good chance to survive. If he doesn't that is good, but he is still very open to getting it since he has not been vaccinated at all.

If he is parvo free the vet will give him some fluids under his skin and some antibiotics most likely. These will perk him up and get him eating again. If he doesn't have a fever then the vet may also vaccinate him and start his protection.

But don't wait for days because if he starts having bloody diarrhea you are risking losing him for sure.

Call the vet in the morning and get him into see them.
