My dog Eddie is 10 yrs old....at one yr he went almost blind n had lens transplant surgery...about a yr ago they discovered a pound mass in his liver....he's had surgery and was on a chemo pill n other Meds....he is now free of cancer cell for the time....his dr is an oncologist and now Eddie has thick crusty stuff in his ears n he's losing hair in his ears his dr has for the third time prescribed him antibiotics and they just aren't working...he goes every month for blood tests to her to watch fir cancer.  She hasn't done an war scaling n to be honest I'm nit sure how much more I can afford .....well prob whatever it takes but I'm having tough times n need help with figuring out hopefully on my own what to do.....I hsve 2 other jackrussels n the ear prob hadn't spread to them.....if u could offer any advice I'd really appreciate it

YOu need to find a dermatologist veterinarian to look at the ears.  There is some reason for this black discharge.  IT could be mucus and blood from the middle ear or a severe pseudomonas bacterial infection.  Both of these will make black goo in the ear.
