I have a 4 year old male poodle/mix. He has a bad cough almost choking or gasping for air, when he tries to run and play. He also can not keep his food down. Any suggestions on what his problem may be? Thank-you

I cannot diagnose on the internet, but I would definitely have a vet check him and possibly do a chest X-ray to see if there is a heart or lung problem causing the coughing.  Some small dogs get a collapsed trachea which is more apparent when they are playing, taking deep breaths.
