Question
Dear Dr. Gotthelf, I have a pregnant pitbull and am really concerned about taking her on long walks. Is this safe? Will her water break at anytime? How will  I know if she is about to go into labor?

Answer
She will regulate her stamina. If she is earl;y in her pregnancy, there is no problem with walking her.   If she is fatigued, she will not want to walk much.  If she is in labor, she will point her nose to the abdominal cramps when she is having a contraction.  She will not walk much if she is in labor.
