Question
I have a small dog with liver disease.  I have read online that distilled water may be better for dogs with liver disease.  Is this correct?  Would distilled water be safe for dogs and is it any better than spring water?

Answer
Both spring water or distilled water for a few months is good in liver diseases..  Avoid reverse osmosis water, alkaline waters and other types of water.

Distilled water is a type of purified water. Itís water that has gone through a rigorous filtration process to strip it not only of contaminants, but any natural minerals as well. Though it may seem counterintuitive, this water is not necessarily the best for consumption, since all of the waterís natural, and often beneficial, minerals are absent.

Spring water is what you often find in bottled water. Itís from an underground source and may or may not have been treated and purified. itís not necessarily the best water for drinking if you have other options.
