Question
My friend Matt Gmgavw my cat Miley treats. Could that have been why she rubbed against him? Or would she have anyway? She also layed by his feet.

Answer
Hi James,

May be yes.Especially when a cat  flash you their tummy.Like most animals, cats do not show their stomachs to just anyone. If your cat rolls over on its back to give you a flash of that  belly, this is an indication that they feel comfortable around you. And not only this, but they feel loved and protected by you, rendering themselves defenseless while on their backs. Cats are prideful animals, so if they do this for you they have no concerns letting their guard down when in your presence.

Tempting the cat with a treat, especially when it is hesitant to come near the owner, and putting some cat food or a cat treat on the hand and letting the cat eat it,and while the cat is eating the food, stroking  its fur softly,is a general methodology by which all cat owners tend to make the cat trust them. And food is one important thing that cats loves the most.
