Question
My 9-year-old Chihuahua was just diagnosed with pancreatitis, and I'd like to make some food she can easily digest that has more flavor than retail dog food.  Can you recommend any recipes, or direct me to a good Web site for that?
Thank you!

Keewee

Answer
With pancreatitis, we try and NOT feed the dog for a few days to let the pancreas rest.  Food stimulates the secretion of enzymes that will make the pancreas digest itself. After the worst of the problem is over, we offer very bland things like mashed potatos or plain rice with no butter or salt.
