Question
I just recently got a 3 yr old english bulldog, She is a little over weight but healthy other than that i have set up a vet visit but i was wondering if you could help me with this question? When she wakes up in the morning she always has green stuff Liquidy in here eyes, I gentle wipe it away with a warm wash cloth and wipe it away from her wrinkles too. Is that normal or do you think there is an infection maybe. And also her Skin in her wrinkle spots sometimes become red is there anything i can do about that at home or just talk to my vet about these things? Thank you.

Answer
Bulldogs can get something called entropion, which is a rolling in of the eyelid.  The lashes or the dry skin may be touching the eyeball, causing the discharge.  You should let your vet look at this and see if the eyelids are set normally.  Wrinkles often get chafing as the skin edges rub together.  Often an antibiotic ointment or an antibiotic powder may help these.
