Question
I have a three year old daschund that has been experiencing hair loss for a couple of years. Had her thyroid checked changed shampoos nothing has worked.  Do you have any recommendations?

Answer
There are many reasons for hair loss and if this has been going on that long, I would recommend that your vet do some skin biopsies to see what type of disease is affecting the skin and hair follicles.  Allergies, ringworm, bacterial infections, mange and many other diseases can cause chronic hair loss.
