Question
Hi

My border collie has red lumpy ears. I have been to the vet and they have given me some drops to "help" but these have not helped. I have been using them for about a week. The lumps lok like blisters on the pinna and then are more inflamed in the inner ear and canal, there was some browny gunk inside of the ear that i could clean out but now the ear has become too inflamed. do you have any suggestions to what it may be. we have tried differnt washing powders and food, but it is a mystery. any suggestions would be appreciated

Answer
Without an examination, it is hard for me to diagnose skin diseases on the internet. Does she have any type of skin disease in addition to this ear problem?  Are these fluid filled or just red and raw?  Is there an infection in the ear canal?

Sometimes a shot of a steroid can take the redness and swelling down.  Ask your vet.
