Just logged onto your site Dr. Very silly question, but we are very much a dog family and a very cute small breed cat has strayed into our garden & decided to stay.  How can I be sure what sex the cat is??

There are 2 ways.  One, in the male cat the diatance from the rectum to the urethral opening is longer (that is where the testicles are located) than in a female.  Second, if you push on the opening of the urethra and something protrudes out, it is a male.
