Question
Please help, my 8 yr old Min Pin has developed a nickle size chalky patch that just rubbed off with a cloth and exposed red skin (slight blood), also has a bald toe that he constantly licks.  I notised a boil on his lip (from licking?).  It is christmas week and no clinics are open.  We also have another Min Pin should we be concered about spreading it?????  Please help Merry Christmas......

Answer
It is very difficult for me to diagnose on the internet without actually seeing the lesion.  It could be an infection or something like seborrhea.  If the other dog doesn't have it by now, then it is probably not contagious.  See your vet when you can.
