Question
Hi. I was wondering how you become a vet. What if you can not get into a veterinay college and you have excellent grades?

Answer
Becoming a vet requires several things.

1.  Get experience with animals of all types.  Working in a humane shelter or a vet clinic really helps.  Become familiar with all of the dirty work involved in veterinary medicine.

2.  Make sure that you get good grades in the sciences like biology, chemistry, and physics.  Math through claculus also  helps.

3.  Become familiar with the admission requirements for each veterinary school that you want to apply to.  They are all different.

4.  Don't give up.  There are many very smart applicants that get rejected.  Try again.  In my own case, it took me 4 years of applying to finally get accepted.
