Ask the Veterinarian/cat pain med

Question
Our cat hurt his leg outside. It's swollen and he limps. No open wounds or anything. I think he'll be fine, but wondered if there was a pain med we could give him in the meantime. thanks so much from Harry

Answer
Ther are some pain medicines that cats can take, but they are all prescription.  Anything you might have in the house is most likely very toxic to cats.  Call your vet and ask for some Torbutrol tablets to help control the pain and get the cat to the vet for an exam as soon as possible.
