Ask the Veterinarian - Over the counter pain killer for a dog.

Expert: nicole damphouse - 5/20/2004

Question
I was wondering if it is safe to give a dog over the counter pain killers like asprin, tylenol, ibuprophen etc.?

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike! No, NEVER give any animal over the counter medication. It is very dangerous and unsafe for them.If you have a sick pet,you should take him to a vet immediately. This way the animal can be diagnosed and treated properly from a vet with no worries.

I hope this answers your question!
