how many different hamster illnesses are there?  

Answer
There are pretty many hamster illnesses.  What types of symptoms is your hamster displaying? Please feel free to write me back and I will try to pinpoint what can be going on with your hamster.  If your hamster is not moving around, not eating/drinking, a veterinary visit may be in need.  Hamsters only have a life expectancy of 1-3 years, also, so symptoms can just be a sign of old age.
Please let me know how your hamster is behaving and we'll figure out what's going on.

I am very knowledgable in small animal health, care, and behavior. I have five cats, three ferrets, two birds, and a dog of my own, so I have a very broad spectrum in different domesticated species.
