Ask the Veterinarian/ear infection

Question
can you use human kind of ear drops from a doctor on a dog with ear infection?

Answer
Depending on the type of infection in the ear, sometimes we use human drugs.  However, many dogs with ear infections have no eardrums, so you have to be very careful of toxicity issues.  You should have the dog checked by the vet to see what type of infection (bacterial or fungal) is present, why it is there, and if the eardrum is ruptured.
