Question
We have an 8 month Maltese/bison with an itching problem..had her on a variety of foods such as preplan and the science dog food from the vet which she does not like.
Had a variety of shampoos and the vet has put her on antibiotics for 10 day supply and also pred/vitamin injections and still itching...another vet took cultures
and it was non bacterial....the vet also put her on "revolution" in case of mites....please help

Answer
Many of these young dogs that itch may have sarcoptic mange. The Revolution is not a good medication to kill this pearsite. The best thing is to have her dipped in a solution of an insecticide called Phosmet (Paramite). The other thing is to have your vet give a shot of Ivermectin.
