Question
I have an 11month mix. golden retriever, yellow lab. Fantastic dog. Cream coat lays flat, not real curly, feathers around shoulder and hind quarter.
Developed a quarter size crusty scab on shoulder
several more on other locations.Five now for a total. Crusty, oily. I can pick off some and underneath is not an open wound but a bump.

Ointment on the area? Medicated shampoo ?
Thanks

Answer
Your Golden/Lab may have some type of allegic skin disease.  These lesions are most likely a bacterial infection and an oral antibiotic should be given. In addition, these lesions should be shaved and cleaned off daily with soap and water. If it is allergies, in young dogs, it is often a food sensitivity and the diet may need to be changed.  Ask your vet about that.
